Space Series : 1969 - 1970

These paintings developed from the convergence of a number of ideas; The Space Race, Moon Walking, Science Fiction, Anti-matter and Astro Physics with notions around Black Holes and 'alternative worlds' to our own. Many used a diamond shape format to float the images free from gravity.

'Designs with an appearance of being incised on the 'cut' surface, are symbolic and abstract but suggest inner mysteries. These gaseous orbs are delicate and poetic.'

Ivor Francis Sunday Mail, April 1970
